A Rather Large Spider... in My House

Sorry this photo is so blurry, but I think you get the picture (ha, no pun intended!). I held the toothbrush up next to the spider so you could see how big it was!

Now, those of you that know me know that generally speaking I enjoy God's creepy-crawlly creatures. But, I don't especially like sharing my house with them! So, I got my trusty can of Supakill! By the way, "supa" is Kenyan English for super.

Shoe store, Kenyan style

Be grateful you have a sink (or two or three)
with water in the taps,
conveniently located right inside your house!
Many Kenyans spend many hours each and every week
hauling water for their family's consumption.

This is Mary Atieno, an old friend of mine that I hadn't seen for a long time. She was walking by the church last week when I was at Joe's house. Linet hollered at her and she stopped by to say hello to all of us.

Hey Deb...
Seeing this spider reminds me of my first trip to Kenya, when I first met you. When I returned home, I was unwrapping some Kenyan gifts I brought beck for the family. My daughter, Lindsey, whom you know, was opposite the table from me. When I unwrapped one of the gifts, a Kenya spider jumped out onto the table and jumped toward Lindsey. She just about died and I quickly dispatched the creature which was about half the size of your friend. Then I had to dispatch a big bunch of spidr "babies" that had hatched sometime between the time I packed the artifact in Kenya and the time I arrived home, after a two-week layover at my sister's in Switzerland. What a hoot! Enjoyed your pics and comments, as usual. Will show Josiah when he reutrn's from Frank Finley's.
Blessings and love from Kentucky...
