Sinoko, in the Cherangani Hills Area

Jim and I went to see a friend of mine, Ben, at Sinoko. Through the course of the day, we walked about 6 miles! This top photo is a portion of one of the walls in Ben's "sitting room" (living room). Many rural Kenyans decorate their sitting rooms in such a manner. However, Ben had all four walls covered! One thing is sure, there's never a reason to have a lull in the conversation.

Those of you from Omaha and some of you that have been to Kenya will see some familiar faces in the upper area of this wall.

This is Ben's parents and some of his family
(with a few neighbors thrown in for good measure).

Motorcycles are becoming more and more common forms of transportation in many rural areas. It's a little more expensive than hiring a bicycle taxi, but the speed is nice. Also, you don't have to get off and walk up any hills! This was Jim's first time on a motorcycle. You can see from his wide grin that he was quite excited!
